5 Iced Coffee Recipes to try this summer!

5 Iced Coffee Recipes to try this summer!

The first appearance of what we know as Iced Coffee was in 17th Century Algeria. It was called Mazagran - a sweet, lemony mixture of coffee syrup and cold water. Mazagran is still commonly made around parts of Africa and Europe - and it's easy enough to understand why. Iced Coffee is still bigger than ever in 2021 - and whether you like tall, clean cup of Cold Coffee or a delicious Mocha Frappe, we have a recipe for you to try!

The Simple Secret to perfect Iced Coffee

If you love a strong, sweetened iced drink, the last thing you want is granules of sugar interrupting a smooth sip of coffee. Fortunately, this has an easy fix! Making something called Simple Syrup, a combination of equal parts hot water and sugar, stirred until it's fully dissolved - is the easiest way to get a delicious Iced Latte, Frappuccino, or any cold drink! You can make this ahead by heating 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar on the stove until dissolved, and leaving it to cool for a little while.

The best part is - as long as you keep it in an air-tight container in the fridge, you can have a perfect glass of Iced Coffee whenever you want. You can use in any of the recipes down below, or leave it out for an unsweetened option.

Possibly the easiest coffee drink to make, an americano is simply a shot of espresso combined with hot water. For the Iced version, you simply add cold water and ice instead!
